How to get scratches out of glass.  A question we hear constantly.  Scratched glass happens all the time.  Some stucco or grout gets on the glass.  Someone innocently wipes it away, leaving a nice big scratch in the glass of your beautiful picture window. Or perhaps your window cleaner has just scraped your windows clean of the sap, over-spray or other residue that was on your beautiful sliding glass doors.

Now, however, when the afternoon sun hits your glass doors, you notice fine, light scratches all over that glisten and sparkle in the sun. Put simply, it’s a way of taking minute quantities of glass off of the window, grinding it down, uniformly, evenly feathering out over the damaged area. If done correctly, the glass scratch will be permanently removed and the view will be perfectly restored.

However, if someone inexperienced in scratched glass repair attempts this, you could end up with visible distortion in the glass, which is almost impossible to restore perfectly. I always tell clients, glass scratches may be visible from five feet away, but distortion can be seen from fifty feet away! If your glass has scratches, it can be saved.
